works on paper

In the summer of 2001 I started a series of works on paper using ink and high quality German watercolors. I made many apocalyptic images, freely interpreted from 14th century manuscripts both whimsical and enigmatic in content.

These clearly defined pictures are presented surrounded by complexly decorated borders, which separate catastrophic events
from their frames and the outside world. Contemporary objects and toys mingle with angels and stormyfire raining skies.
Mack trucks and grossly magnified microscopic plant life share with crumbling towers a convincing and logical sense of order that suggest new apocalypses to come.
